Vibe Clicker – Week 9: Vibe Lord and Launch Ready!

Vibe Lord, Vibe Shop, and launch date announced! What a productive week back at it.

Last week was quite the push for my launch date of July 4th. I felt very productive while focusing primarily on the end game and what happens after the major AI decision. Although I made it look like the game ends after you unlock Singularity 1.0 or Harmony 1.0, I wanted the player to feel a sense of, “WHOA there’s more?” once they complete the initial story. So, I added the Vibe Lord phase (career level 6) which adds the new Vibe Shop, where you can change your clicker by spending all those Vibe Points you acquired through unlocking AI technology in the story. This phase also allows you to wrack up enough VP to purchase some of the old story-mode items and even my first cup iteration I made for the game!

This week I’m focusing on launching on Itch and GX Games while putting together the Steam page for Vibe Clicker. This is my first Steam store launch, so it’s going to be rocky, but I needed to practice for future games if I want them on Steam.

Vibe Clicker is set to launch on July 4th, which I plan on streaming the launch day and hyping up the game a little bit with the community. I look forward to seeing you all there! Thanks for sticking around while I build one of my first games outside of a game jam in a very long time.

Here’s the extensive list of bug fixes/additions I made over the last week.

  • Build out Vibe Lord
  • Vibe Shop – Functional
    • Setup shop with cards
    • Purchase option for cards
    • Add equip option
    • Update clicker text from unlocks
    • Save vibe shop items
    • Save currently equipped items
  • Deleting save data, starting new game with new achievements, breaks the game looking for that new achievement
    • Fix adding new data to saved highscores/achievements
  • Ending breaks the AI guys
  • Hide any upgrades that get unlocked with Vibe Lord
  • Fix career advancement after unlocking an ending
  • Move achievement points to achievement section
  • Audio queue when dialogs popup
  • Debug issue with auto buy not showing full duration randomly
  • Show which Vibe Shop item is equipped
  • Higher Prices with the lower curve
  • Fixed bug where prices weren’t updated on load
  • A tutorial/walkthrough to show what the resources are and incorporate the story
  • Hide number popups until tutorial is gone
  • Popup Processing Power when tutorial is over
  • Make achievements popup last longer
  • Upgrade for the achievements causes the “next level” to disappear
  • Make interaction with lil companion guys
  • Make it so you lose a lil more rep
  • Add $/click for the legend status
  • Bug: Sometimes auto buy without icon popup
  • Add back the info on buy hover
  • Note on upgrades that AI gives auto click speed
  • Update Name Click Sound (so they know it was successful)
  • Fix the x5 button when you can’t upgrade

In case you missed the stream, here’s the VoD!
