Vibe Clicker – Week 2: Adding stats and leveling up the UI

Adding some of my art, new GUI, basic gameplay added, upgrades, achievements, and some settings. This week was HUGE!

It was a productive week and I’m proud of the progress I made on Vibe Clicker. I think keeping a dev blog, 1 stream a week, and some free time has helped me stay motivated for a new game project. This might actually be my first real project outside of any game jams, and it’s good to see I can find time to work on a game. This week I got SO much completed.

  • Updated GUI
  • Added hand drawn cup to click
  • Added some sound effects to make the game feel more alive
  • Added hover text effects
  • Added achievements and upgrades

This week I’ll be focusing on getting the prototype done and in a good working state to stay on track. I already tested the export to web and made sure everything works great there. Last night, I made it so the panels can be dragged with the mouse, which also means it works with touch controls. Yes, I might try to get this working for mobile! Fingers crossed.

I also discovered a service for adding leaderboards, player accounts and saved data. I might use this for saving data so I don’t have to do it locally. We’ll see how that goes.

VOD from the live stream of course!

Vibe Clicker – Week 5: Story Spoilers and UI Overhaul

Huge week for Vibe Clicker! I finally implemented story endings with multiple paths, completely overhauled the UI with visible upgrade progress on cards, and added an AI-driven auto-purchasing system that gets more aggressive as you invest in automation, sometimes even pushing you toward endings without direct input, which feels perfectly thematic. Also knocked out upgrade…
