Vibe Clicker – Week 6: Beta released and launch is on the horizon!

I launched Vibe Clicker's beta with a working save system and announced the new Indie Game Gauntlet for indie developers.

Last week was a huge push to getting launch-ready for Vibe Clicker. I announced the beta; feel free to try the game and let me know what you think! I got the save system working which as cool as it is, was really difficult to setup and ensure I’m saving/loading data properly. I think next time I do a save system I’ll start with that in mind so I simplify what needs to be saved. Luckily everything was in a single dictionary for the most part.

List of tasks accomplished

  • Save system!
  • Moved the AI Click speed to the HUD
  • Added the ability to delete the save
  • Updated Credits
  • Added something I can’t talk about
  • Add are you sure dialog to the delete save
  • Find a way to tell the user that faster auto clicks means losing rep
  • Way to purchase multiple upgrade levels
  • After ending, remove AI upgrades

Indie Game Gauntlet announced!

As indie game developers, we pour our hearts into our games. We spend countless late nights tweaking mechanics (adding secret endings), perfecting art, and crafting experiences we hope players will love. But here’s the thing, we’re often too close to our own creations to see them clearly. You test and test, and the first person you hand the game over to breaks it in less than a minute.

That’s why I’m launching my Indie Game Gauntlet!

In case you missed the stream last night

Vibe Clicker – Week 5: Story Spoilers and UI Overhaul

Huge week for Vibe Clicker! I finally implemented story endings with multiple paths, completely overhauled the UI with visible upgrade progress on cards, and added an AI-driven auto-purchasing system that gets more aggressive as you invest in automation, sometimes even pushing you toward endings without direct input, which feels perfectly thematic. Also knocked out upgrade…
