Vibe Clicker – Week 4: Balancing and TONS of art!

Vibe Clicker hit a major polish milestone last week with 40 new upgrade icons, full audio implementation, complete UI overhaul, and an alpha build ready.

Last week was a major milestone for Vibe Clicker as I pushed toward the alpha release. The game received significant polish with the addition of 40 upgrade icons, complete with hover tooltips and visual upgrade notifications to enhance the player experience. I implemented an options menu featuring full-screen support and audio controls for the newly added music and background sounds. The game flow was refined with a fresh title screen, credits scene, and preliminary ending sequences.

Behind the scenes, I did some balancing passes, overhauled the upgrade requirement system, and built in a game reset mechanic (though I know the save system still needs work). Several new achievements were added to reward player progression, and I’m excited to announce that an alpha test build is ready. I’ve had tons of great feedback so far and even tackled some of the changes on stream. The game is really starting to feel complete as we approach the beta milestone!

THE list of changes from last week:

  • MORE Balancing
  • Upgrade Icons (40 total)
  • Icon Hover Tips
  • Upgrade Notices
  • Options Menu
  • New Title Screen
  • Full Screen option
  • Music/BGS
  • Few new achievements
  • Game Reset Mechanic (need to work on save system I know)
  • Upgrade overhaul for requirements
  • Ending Scenes setup
  • Alpha test build (maybe public??)
  • Added Credits Scene
  • Removed requirements when you unlock them for upgrades
  • Auto buying decision AI
  • Mute buttons added to the volume controls for quick muting
  • Changed RP to Rep to make it easier to distinguish at small scale from PP (processing power)
  • Made the upgrade tabs sticky so you don’t have to scroll to switch between them.

And of course, the live stream so you can catch up!
